Niagara Falls is one of those great natural wonders that everyone wants to see sometime in his or her life. According to Wikipedia,
The Niagara Falls are voluminous waterfalls on the Niagara River, straddling the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. Niagara Falls were formed when glaciers receded at the end of the Wisconsin glaciation (the last ice age), and water from the newly-formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment en route to the Atlantic Ocean. While not exceptionally high, the Niagara Falls are very wide. More than 6 million cubic feet of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow, and almost 4 million cubic feet on average. It is the most powerful waterfall in North America.
According to the official Canadian Niagara Falls tourism website,
Marvel from the sidelines, and then delve into the 13-storey fray with a boat tour of the foot of the waterworks. The Maid of the Mist is a staple whose passengers, decked out in recognizable blue ponchos, make for an iconic vista in these parts.
On your tour, you will indeed embark on the Maid of the Mist tour and wear the blue poncho!
Here is the Maid of the Mist traveling through the mist, where often beautiful rainbows appear.
Of course, your tour of Niagara Falls is just one part of this exquisite vacation, which includes a river cruise on the St. Lawrence Seaway and even a rail tour as well.
Truly the trip of a lifetime, so why not give it a try? We welcome reservations from Indianapolis, where we are based, or from any location in the United States or Canada.
