A little secret about Interlude: In our tours, we attempt to show you the very best things wherever we visit, whether they are famous or not. Of course, we take you to the big-name famous places too, since they rightly deserve their fame. But we also take you to places like Callaway Gardens: renowned among those in the know, but not a name familiar to all people in the world.
The world, however, is full of amazing places like Callaway, and we want to show them to you! According to Wikipedia,
Callaway Gardens is a 13,000 acre resort complex founded in 1952 by Cason J. and Virginia Hand Callaway to promote and protect native azalea species. Today, Callaway Gardens features a wide variety of recreational attractions including a large enclosed butterfly habitat, the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center, and the John Sibley Horticultural Center, known for its wide variety of cultivars and native plants.
The Day Butterfly Center was designed to recreate a rain forest environment. Every element of the conservatory allows the approximately 50 species of butterflies, numerous tropical plants, tropical birds, and guests to interact with their surroundings.
Here is that incredible Day Butterfly Center, where you are surrounded by beautiful and majestic butterflies and other glories of nature:

According to the official Callaway Gardens website,
Since its opening in 1988, millions of visitors have strolled through this tropical world where butterflies fill the air with brilliant color. Varying in height from 16 to 42 feet, the Center encompasses 4 ½ acres and contains approximately 1,000 tropical butterflies representing 50 species. A waterfall sends water cascading 12 feet into a 275 square foot pool which averages two feet in depth. The butterflies are not encased — they fly freely throughout the conservatory. Guests stroll along paved paths as the butterflies flutter around them. Outside the Center, native butterflies are attracted to butterfly gardens. These gardens are planted with flowers and shrubs that provide nectar for the butterflies.
Wow! This wonderful tour is only one part of your incredible Atlanta vacation, so why not give it a try? We welcome reservations from Indianapolis, where we are based, or from any location in the United States or Canada.
