We have a tour coming up that is packed with shows, meals, and fun–plus a wonderful trip to the mountains.
Festival of Nations–Early Spring in the Smokies (click here for itinerary)
April 19-22, 2010 (4 days, 3 nights)
- Escorted vacation (0% fuss, 100% vacation!)
- One-hotel tour (unpack just once!)
- All-motor coach tour (no flying!)
In blogging about our tours, I sometimes like to focus on the part of the tour that is a little different from the rest. I think doing so can help emphasize just how many experiences and just how much value the tour contains!
For example, our Festival of Nations tour is a four-day tour simply brimming with rollicking fun entertainment–five shows plus the Festival of Nations itself:
- Country Tonite
- Patty Waszak
- Hoot n’ Holler Dinner and Show
- Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction
- The Blackwood Breakfast Variety Show
- Dollywood Festival of Nations
But forget all of that for a moment! For you’ll also be going to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to breathe some fresh mountain air and drink in incredible natural beauty. According to Wikipedia,
The park normally has very high humidity and precipitation, averaging from 55 inches per year in the valleys to 85 inches per year on the peaks. This is more annual rainfall than anywhere in the United States outside the Pacific Northwest and parts of Alaska. The park is almost 95 percent forested, and almost 36 percent of it is estimated by the Park Service to be old growth forest with many trees that predate European settlement of the area.
The variety of elevations, the abundant rainfall, and the presence of old growth forests give the park an unusual richness of biota. Park officials count more than 200 species of birds, 66 species of mammals, 50 species of fish, 39 species of reptiles, and 43 species of amphibians, including many lungless salamanders. Over 100 species of trees grow in the park. In addition, the park has over 1,400 flowering plant species and over 4,000 species of non-flowering plants.
And, according to the official National Park Service site,
Ridge upon ridge of forest straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. World renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, this is America’s most visited national park.
So, this is the most popular national park in the United States, and you’ll be enjoying an exquisite tour with an experienced guide.
This tour is one of Interlude’s ultra-low-stress, ultra-high-relaxation all-luxury coach tours–and it’s a one-hotel tour, too: you’ll be staying at the magnificent four-star Inn at Christmas Place.
